CYANOTYPE PHOTOGRAMS

These are one-of-a-kind cameraless images made on watercolor paper, using cyanotype emulsion. Cyanotype is an historical, ultraviolet contact printing process, resulting in a rich blue print. I also make “reversed” cyanotype photograms by making the photogram first on ortho/litho film in the darkroom and then contact printing that in the sun on my coated paper. I sometimes add colored pencil to the finished print.

LUMENS

A Lumen is a one-of-a-kind cameraless image made by placing objects on light sensitive paper, exposing to light for an extended period of time, removing the object and then fixing the paper. No development is used.
